LegalCandidate Assessment Terms
Candidate Assessment Terms
These terms apply when you use Edgeryt Assessment (including through a link from Edgeryt Hire). Eroforze Systems Private Limited provides the software only; the organisation on your invite conducts the assessment and makes hiring decisions. Read the on-screen disclosure before you start — it lists what will be collected for that attempt. Last updated {{OWNER: effective date once counsel approves}}.
1. Purpose
The assessment measures skills or other criteria the hiring organisation chose. Your results and any integrity signals are shared with that organisation. Completing it does not guarantee an interview, an offer or any other outcome.
2. Who runs the assessment
The organisation shown in the flow (the "Organisation") sets the content and the proctoring level, and decides how results are used. It is the controller (Data Fiduciary under India's DPDP Act) for your hiring data. Eroforze Systems Private Limited is the software provider and acts as its processor. We do not employ you, recruit for the Organisation, or make selection decisions.
One exception: if you opt in to a talent profile, Edgeryt is the controller of that profile. Customer workspaces are also bound by our Terms of Use.
3. How it works
- Redeem a code or open your invite.
- Confirm your details.
- Complete the privacy notice, consent choices and system checks.
- Answer the questions.
Monitoring stops when you submit.
4. Eligibility
You must be the person who was invited. You must be 18 or older, or have verifiable consent from a parent or guardian.
5. Rules
- Follow the instructions.
- Answer yourself, without unauthorised help.
- Stay in fullscreen when required.
- Use one session unless the assessment allows you to resume.
6. Prohibited activities
- Cheating, impersonating someone, or sharing the questions.
- Using automation tools or browser-controlling AI agents, or attaching debuggers.
- Blocking or spoofing a required camera or microphone.
- Connecting extra displays when they are not allowed.
7. Permissions
Your browser asks before the camera, microphone or screen share is used. If a required permission is declined, you may not be able to start. Your screen may be watched live without storing it, or recorded, as shown to you before you start.
8. Identity verification
Some assessments need a face photo and, when configured, a photo ID (any photo ID; a government ID such as Aadhaar, PAN, passport, driving licence or voter ID; a college ID; or an employee ID). The face on the ID is compared with yours on your device. Reviewers may see both photos.
This is biometric processing, so you are asked for separate consent. If you prefer not to, choose "Request an alternative check". A person will verify your identity instead, and choosing this will not count against you. Biometric data and identity photos are destroyed within 30 days (see Privacy Policy §11A).
9. Proctoring
Depending on the setup, we may record:
- leaving fullscreen or switching tabs;
- extra displays;
- copy/paste attempts;
- face presence, and whether you are looking at the screen (no emotion analysis);
- a camera photo about every 30 seconds;
- microphone alerts when another voice is heard;
- on-device checks for whether questions are being read aloud (spoken words are not stored or uploaded);
- short audio clips, when enabled.
10. Recording and data
Always collected: answers and their timestamps; browser, device and screen size; IP address, internet provider and approximate city.
When enabled:
- camera and audio clips of about 15 seconds before and after an integrity issue;
- short screen clips around issues;
- continuous screen recording while you work outside the browser on a file question.
Recordings are deleted within the number of days shown before you start (never more than 30).
11. AI-based detection
Face, gaze, voice and speech checks run on your device. We also look for automation tools. If the Organisation enables it, cloud AI may suggest grades for written answers.
These results are indicators for human reviewers, not decisions. You can request human-only grading. See the AI Notice.
12. Technical requirements
A supported modern browser, a stable connection, and any devices the assessment requires.
13. Accessibility
Contact the Organisation before you start to ask for a reasonable accommodation, including an alternative to camera-based proctoring where needed. For technical access issues, email support@edgeryt.com.
14. Integrity
Integrity events may be stored and summarised for the Organisation. Repeated violations may end the attempt, if the Organisation has set this up.
15. Consequences
Under its own policies, and after human review, the Organisation may invalidate your attempt or take action.
16. Privacy
See the Privacy Policy. Face checks run on your device. Recordings and photos are deleted within the periods shown to you. For your talent profile, contact privacy@edgeryt.com.
17. Your rights
For hiring data (access, correction, deletion, grievances), contact the Organisation first. You can also contact privacy@edgeryt.com, and we will pass your request on within 2 business days. Rights under GDPR, UK GDPR, CCPA, DPDP, PDPA, KSA PDPL and UAE PDPL are described in the Privacy Policy.
18. Support
Product issues: support@edgeryt.com. Scheduling and accommodations: the Organisation.
19. Consent choices
Before you start, you make separate choices. None of the boxes is pre-ticked:
- Required: agree to the assessment rules and the monitoring listed on screen.
- Required only if face/voice checks are on: consent to biometric checks, or request an alternative check.
- Optional: keep your profile for future opportunities for 12 months.
- Where relevant: confirm you are 18 or older, or provide parental consent.
Each choice is recorded with a timestamp and the version of the notice you saw. Choice 3 is never required, and you can withdraw any consent later.
20. Disclaimers
To the extent the law allows, the assessment, scores, AI output and integrity signals are provided "as is". We do not promise that scores are complete or that proctoring will catch all misconduct. The Organisation alone decides outcomes. Your mandatory rights under the law are not affected.
21. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses. Our total liability to you is capped at INR 10,000 or USD 100, whichever is lower. This cap does not apply to liability that cannot be limited, such as death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud or wilful misconduct, or breach of mandatory data-protection or consumer rights.
22. Your responsibilities
You are responsible for your own conduct and for the accuracy of the information you give. (The previous candidate indemnity has been removed: it is likely unenforceable against consumers and job applicants in the UK, EU and California.)
23. Governing law
The laws of India, including the laws of the State of Tamil Nadu applicable therein, govern these terms. The courts at Coimbatore have jurisdiction. This is subject to the mandatory consumer, employment and data-protection rights and courts of your country of residence. Disputes about hiring or discrimination go to the Organisation.
24. Severability
If any provision is invalid, it is modified to the minimum extent needed or removed. The rest stays in effect.
