Question bank
Import a hiring question bank from Excel or CSV
Bring existing MCQ, written, and coding items into My Question Bank, validate them, then attach a stable version to an assessment.

Most hiring teams already have questions: old papers, Google Sheets, a ZIP of coding prompts. The cost is not writing the first item. It is getting a clean, versioned bank in the same system that will run the test.
Excel/CSV import is the bridge. It is only safe if you validate before candidates see the paper.
What to import (and what to finish in the editor)
Hire question banks accept common hiring formats such as multiple-choice, true/false, short and long written answers, and coding items. Some specialised types are better completed in the editor after a stub import.
A usable sheet has:
- A stable header row
- One question per row
- A type the importer understands
- Numeric marks
- Options and answers aligned for MCQ
- For coding: languages and tests, or a plan to add tests in the UI
Keep cells aligned even when a field is blank. Quoted JSON belongs in coding test columns, not in the prompt.

Validation checklist before publish
- Preview each type: MCQ scoring, written prompts, coding tests.
- Confirm difficulty and subject tags you will filter on later.
- Confirm images are stored as proper media references, not pasted data URLs.
- Run the paper as a candidate.
- Freeze a version for the drive. Editing items while a campus test is live breaks comparability.
Edgeryt Hire lets you create your own questions, import existing content, or start from the question library. Review questions and assessment configuration before publishing.
Related: coding tests, multi-stage assessments.
Adjacent area: faculty banks vs employer banks
Colleges importing faculty papers for student readiness should use Edgeryt Campus question banks. Mixing student-exam items into a company hiring bank without review is how leaked papers and mismatched difficulty happen.
How Edgeryt Hire uses the bank
Once items are in the bank, you attach them to assessments, combine formats, and run stages with optional proctoring. The bank is reusable across roles; the assessment version is what you send to candidates.
Questions teams ask
Can we import coding tests with hidden cases?
Yes, when the sheet includes test data the importer can parse, or when you add tests in the editor after import. Hidden tests should stay hidden.
What file types work?
Excel and CSV are the intended bulk path. If a sheet fails, it is usually headers, merged cells, or marks that are not numeric.
Do we have to import everything?
No. Small banks can be authored in the product. Import when you already maintain a source of truth in a spreadsheet.
